
It is difficult to imagine a more beautiful, natural setting to serve as the backdrop for the celebration of a marriage.
Most weddings at Windham Hill are relatively small events, roughly 35 to 65 people in size (maximum about 75). The couple and their immediate families and closest friends reserve the entire inn for two nights. Other friends and family can be accommodated at nearby inns.
The first night is generally a "rehearsal" dinner followed the next afternoon by the wedding ceremony and then a dinner and reception celebration with festivities lasting until the wee hours. The wedding dinner and reception are generally held in a tent pitched on the White Barn terrace.
Because we have no other guests in the house when we hold weddings, we can be quite flexible in accommodating your individual preferences regarding schedule, menus and other special requirements. Our chef will work with you directly to plan the menu for your event and, if you wish, your wedding cake. We can also recommend local sources for photography, flowers, entertainment and any required special equipment.
In the event of stormy weather, or in seasons too cold for outdoor wedding events (our capacity drops to 50 when a tent is not utilized), we have a 1,000 square foot great room which works well as a location for a reception party. All that furniture and those rugs can disappear, and the band or DJ goes in the corner in place of the TV!
